IGR J14536-5522 is an INTEGRAL detected CV and like in most cases it turned out to be a magnetic CV.
Regular monitoring of IGR J14536-5522 at CBA Pretoria with unfiltered CCD showed it to be in a high state since more than three months now, brightening from an average of 17.6R (normal/faint) to 14.8R magnitude. A peak brightness of 13.0R was observed on JD 2454532.432 .

Timeseries photometry over several hours on 6 and 7 April 2008 confirmed IGR J14536-5522 as a polar (and not a DQ Her like most INTEGRAL detected CVs).

The following parameters describe the system:
orbital period : 0.131d +/- 0.002d
mean amplitude : 1.1 mag
peak magnitude : 14.5R
most similar polar (from CBA Pretoria observations): V1043 Cen (RX J1313-3259).

Best regards,

PS finally some open skies..
