According to ASAS-3 data, UU Aqr has become brightest in recent years.

  YYYYMMDD(UT) mag observer
  20080503.4142 12.732V (ASAS (Pojmanski, G. 2002, Acta Astron. 52,397))
  20080507.4111 12.187V (ASAS (Pojmanski, G. 2002, Acta Astron. 52,397))
  20080511.4079 12.534V (ASAS (Pojmanski, G. 2002, Acta Astron. 52,397))
  20080515.3865 12.405V (ASAS (Pojmanski, G. 2002, Acta Astron. 52,397))

This kind of large long-term brightness change might explain the apparent
discrepancy from the GCVS range (10.9-12.6p), which had been a mystery
for years. The present brightness might provide an excellent opportunity
to study novalike-type accretion disk in an "enhanced" high state.
