V2051 Oph superhumps confirmed

Peter Nelson has provided observations on three nights (Aug. 27-29).
The data clearly show the presence of superhumps.
An analysis on these three nights' data yielded a superhump period
of 0.0645(1) d, which is slightly longer than the past measurements.
Between Aug. 27 and 28, the superhumps greatly changed their amplitudes
and an O-C analysis suggests that there was a transition from a longer
(early stage) period to a more stable period. It is likely that we have
caught the early stage of superhump evolution. The current superoutburst
will provide a good opportunity to study the superhump period and its
evolution, both of which were not yet well established for this object.
Further observations are strongly encouraged.
