Subject: possible new cataclysmic variable in Ursa Major
Dear all,
I have reported a detection of possible outburst of new cataclysmic
variable to the CBAT. If you confirm the brightening, or its
modulation, please report it to the CBAT as well as vsnet.
" K. Itagaki, Yamagata, Japan, reports his discovery of a new
variable star on a wide-field survey CCD image taken on Jan. 2.727 UT
with a 0.21-m f/3 reflector. Confirming CCD images taken on Jan.
2.749 UT with a 0.30-m f/7.8 reflector show the variable's magnitude
to be about 14.9 and its position to be R.A. = 10h26m37.04s, Decl. =
+47d54'26".3 (equinox 2000.0). The star was fainter than mag 16.5 on his
survey image taken on 2008 Jan. 31.627. SDSS J102637.04+475426.3, a
faint blue star (umag=20.182, gmag=20.084, rmag=20.116, imag=20.201,
zmag=19.855), has identical position with the reported object.
Outburst amplitude and a color on its quiesient phase suggest that it
is possibly a dwarf nova caught in outburst. "
