NB I reckon, progenitor or not, that MACHO 67.9895.257's variable, probably erratically, especially when compared to the data for the star four arcsecs away.

Whether anybody can pull some valid periodicity out of the MACHO data, should such exist, I dunno.

"V-R" ~ 0.35, V-R in quotes because it's not V-Rc I don't think.  According to to the IRSA IPAC Dust Extincion service E(B-V) is about 0.18, and E(V-R) likely isn't going to be that much different.
