Jennie McCormick has reported observations on Aug. 24.
The object again showed transient waves with similar amplitudes,
but the period appears to have decreased (0.02 d). The waves
then disappeared just before Maehara-san's observations.
(Maehara-san's "flare" may have been one of intermittently appearing
waves).
See Drake et al. (2002) for V1494 Aql.

They proposed a hypothesis that X-ray variations (periodicity similar
to V2672 Oph) can be a kind of g-mode pulsation of a white dwarf.
