On comparing the POSS-I and POSS-II images, it appears that the
component currently on the southeast (by only 1"-2") has significant
proper motion. It has moved from several arcsec southwest of the
brighter star (in the red) in 1951 to being rather close on the
southeast in recent images. This motion star is also quite blue
since it becomes gradually fainter toward longer wavelengths, and is
quite weak on 2MASS images. The difference in its brightness
between the POSS-I and POSS-II blue plates suggests it is the
variable star.
