SDSS J080434.20+510349.2: rapid fading and more on superhumps

Akazawa-san (Okayama U. of Sci. team) and Enrique de Miguel have reported
further observations. The data have confirmed that the object has entered
the rapid decline phase.

The mean superhump period during the plateau phase is 0.05962(2) d with
a relatively strong period increase in its later part (there seems to be
a fine structure even during stage B), corresponding to Pdot = +6.4(1.1)x10^(-5)
during the stage B. This lengthening of the superhump period can be
independently confirmed by using the data between Sep. 29 and Oct. 2,
yielding 0.05981(2) d. The present data seem to confirm the appearance
of a longer period as in 2006 (when only the terminal stage of the plateau
was observed).

There were hump features after the rapid decline, whose nature is still
unclear. Since this object is known to show strong hump features when the
system became faint (e.g. 2006 post-superoutburst) and since they are very
variable and dependent on the rebrightening phase, long time-series photometry
(even if the object might look too faint) at this very stage is very wanted.
Please keep your vigil on this object until it finally returns to quiescence.
