After imaging this nova on 8 Aug at mag 10.3, tonight I had my first
opportunity to have another 'look' at it. It has brightened considerably.

In generating a chart in AAVSO's VSP, I noticed that the visual sequence is
pretty wobbly for mags brighter than the discovery mag. The nova appears to
be sitting somewhere around midway between the 99 and 84 comp stars at the
moment (marked on image linked above), a big gap of 1.5 magnitudes. Any
chance of a few more comp stars? Thanks.
Cheers -
