Dear All,
the HST observations of SDSS1238-0339 (V406 Vir) went
well, John Thorstensen managed to save the day despite
the star being only a few degrees away from the nearly full
moon... hopefully the next targets will be a bit easier. STScI
has scheduled two observations this week,
SDSS1035+0551: Mar 8, 2013 07:42:37 to 15:04:27
SDSS1435+2336: Mar 9, 2013 08:35:01 to 13:40:17
Both are very short period (~80min) CVs discovered
by SDSS, and have very low accretion rates and very
low-mass companion stars ... the first one is eclipsing,
and it will be very interesting to see how the HST
observations line up with predictions we could make
from analysing the eclipse light curve.
Please keep monitoring both until the time of their
HST observations - thanks for all your support!
Best wishes,
Boris
