Dear All,

the double feature on SDSS1035+0551 and SDSS1435+2336
went well - your monitoring was again crucial to make this
happen! Both systems contain very cool WDs, in fact, they
are among the ~4 coolest (non-magnetic) accreting WDs known.
We expected that for SDSS1035+0551, but SDSS1435+2336
is a bit of a surprise ... and it implies that both have very low
average accretion rates.

But, no time to relax: V485 Cen is on the schedule, and needs
your attention,

Mar 16, 2013 03:02:56 to 09:44:57

This is one of the handful of extremely short-period CVs near
~60min, which are *not* part of the AM CVn class - but have
descended a somewhat peculiar path in evolution, and now
accretion from the nuclear processed inner remains of a previously
much more massive companion star ... the hope is to get an
HST spectrum that is good enough to measure some chemical
abundances of the accreted material.

Please keep monitoring V485 Cen until the planned HST
observations.

Best wishes,

Boris
