Dear All,
and on goes the show: the next two targets are
* IY UMa: Mar 29, 2013 23:43:52 to Mar 30, 2013 02:18:13
* MR UMa: Apr 4, 2013 04:12:40 to Apr 4, 2013 08:44:27
IY UMa is eclipsing, and had a recent outburst (~March 1),
http://www.aavso.org/lcg/plot?auid=000-BBR-614&lastdays=50&obstotals=yes&calendar=calendar&grid=on&visual=on&uband=on&bband=on&v=on&pointsize=1&width=800&height=450
It's normal outburst cycle is ~70d, and its superoutburst cycle
is ~290d. The last superoutburst I could dig up on VSNET was
early June 2011. With the supercycle given above, the date
of the superouburst should shift earlier each year by two months
to ... ~March. Gulp. Is any of you aware of a superoutburst
in 2012?
MR UMa has superoutbursts every ~370d, but had the last one
at the beginning of March,
http://www.aavso.org/lcg/plot?auid=000-BCZ-971&lastdays=50&obstotals=yes&calendar=calendar&grid=on&visual=on&uband=on&bband=on&v=on&pointsize=1&width=800&height=450
so I don't expect too much trouble from this one (still the chance
of a normal outburst).
Thus, please keep those two on your watch list until the time of
the HST observations.
Any urgent update, please e-mail Anjum (anjum at astro.washington.edu)
and Paula (szkody at astro.washington.edu), as I will be travelling
from Monday onward, with limited internet access.
Best wishes,
Boris
