[vsnet-alert 15865] Next HST observations: CC Scl

Dear All,

apologies for the late feedback on the latest HST observations,
the last two weeks of the teaching term took their toll! We got
a stunning spectrum of QZ Ser, showing that the white dwarf
is still heated by the recent superoutburst, and it confirms
what we expected based on John Thorstensen's optical
work (2002PASP..114.1117T<http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2002PASP..114.1117T>):
the donor star has *very*
anomalous abundances, there is no hint of carbon lines,
which are usually among the strongest features in CVs.
Thank you very much, once again, for your help with
getting these observations approved!

The next target will be CC Scl, a southern short-period
dwarf nova, that may contain a magnetic white dwarf
(see arXiv:1208.5936)<http://adsabs.harvard.edu/cgi-bin/nph-data_query?bibcode=2012MNRAS.427.1004W&link_type=PREPRINT&db_key=AST>.

slipped by two days with respect to my earlier message on this
target:

The last outburst that I am aware of was in August 2012,
we better keep a close eye on it for the next
days.
