MASTER OT J040552.59+274716.7 - large amplitude optical transient (CV or
classical Nova)

MASTER-Amur auto-detection system discovered OT source at (RA, Dec) = 04h
05m 52.59s +27d 47m 16.7s on 2013-09-05.73515 UT. The OT unfiltered magnitude
is
14.6m
(limit 18.1m). The OT is seen in 6 images. There is no minor planet at
this place. We have reference image without OT on 2013-01-09.53743 UT with
unfiltered magnitude limit 18.6m. The object has brightened to 14.5m on
the second triplet of images obtained 45 minutes later, on 2013-09-05.767
UT.

There is nothing at this position on the digitized Palomar plates and on
their combination down to ~22m. Color-combined finder chart is uploaded
to http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/J040552+274716-BRIR.jpg (10'x10'
FOV). The object is not present in 1RXS, USNO-B, GSC, 2MASS, GCVS and AAVSO
VSX. This area of sky in Taurus is not covered by GALEX and SDSS. No previous
outbursts were detected by CRTS and <a href="http://skyview.gsfc.nasa.gov/skymorph/skymorph.html">Palomar/NEAT</a>.
Sum of 10 best NEAT images is uploaded to http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/J040552+274716-NEAT.jpg
(5'x5' FOV).

Based on the outburst amplitude (at least 7.5m) MASTER OT J040552.59+274716.7
is likely a dwarf nova of UGWZ (WZ Sge) type. However, taking into account
the object's location in Taurus, other scenarios (including a classical
Nova eruption) are also possible. Spectral and photometric observations
are required. The discovery and reference images are available at: http://master.sai.msu.ru/static/OT/040552.59274716.7.png
