ASASSN-14mv: ultrashort-period system with stages A and B

Itoh-san, Pavol A. Dubovsky, Roger Pickard and Josch
Hambsch have reported observations. These observations
successfully recorded the temporary minimum and brightening
to the full maximum. The data indicate that the ASAS-SN
team recorded the precursor outburst. The object is now
bright at 11.8 mag.

Growing superhumps were recorded in all observations.
The period was initially 0.02900(9) d (stage A, temporary
minimum) and now 0.02851(4) d. The stage A-B transition
occurred around Dec. 31.1 (well recorded).

The superhump period suggests that the object may be
either an AM CVn-type object or an EI Psc-type object.
The short period may favor the former interpretation.
