Dear colleagues,

A further analysis of my below observations, covering this time a time span of 8.2 hours, has resulted in following updated superhump period, using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso): 0.0584 +/- 0.0002d.

Note also that the object did not show superhumps during my observations of Oct 26th.

Best regards

Tonny

Subject: (cba:chat) ASASSN-15sc: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova

Dear colleagues,

I’m currently (2015, Oct 31) doing unfiltered CCD photometry of ASASSN-15sc. An intermediate analysis of the observations, made at CBA Belgium Observatory using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera under clear skies, clearly reveals the presence of superhumps, establishing this target as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. The superhump amplitude is approx 0.2 mag. A preliminary period analysis using the ANOVA method (Peranso), yields a period of 0.0584 +/- 0.0006d.

A more refined period analysis will be made upon completing the current observing session.

Further observations are encouraged.

Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
