NSV 1440 = ASASSN-15sz: ultrashort-period system?
Berto Monard and Josch Hambsch have reported observations.
Although the variations of the amplitudes were small,
a period analysis yielded a strong signal.
The most likely period is 0.01261 d (0.02 mag).
This period suggests that the object is an AM CVn-type one.
The potential problem is that this period is expected
to be in the thermally stable region (no outbursts are
expected). Another possibility is that the variations
are double-wave modulations and the period is 0.02522 d.
Since the observations are still limited, further
data will clarify the nature.
Please use the name NSV 1440 when reporting observations.
