I am currently observing PM I03338+3320 and CSS 111127:033357+332152.
The two objects are separated by just 1.4 arcminutes (vsnet-alert 19301).
CSS 111127:033357+332152 appears to be a new polar with an orbital
period of ~1.8 h based on visual inspection of the light curve. The
light curve is double-humped with a peak-to-peak amplitude of > 2 mag.
There was a very deep, 20-minute-long dip during which the system faded
below the detection threshold (~20th mag.) of my equipment. The duration
of this dip is too long for it to have been caused by an eclipse by the
donor star, so despite the high amplitude of variation, the system seems
to be non-eclipsing. The strong, rapid variation in the CRTS light curve
(http://nesssi.cacr.caltech.edu/catalina/20111127/1111271320174145528p.html)
is also consistent with classification as a polar.
Both the amplitude and morphology of the light curve are generally
reminiscent of the polar MASTER OT J132104.04+560957.8 (see IBVS 6129).
Even at peak brightness, the object only reached magnitude 18.0
(unfiltered) in my data, so it is quite faint.
Best Regards,
Colin
