Shizuo Kaneko (Kakegawa, Shizuoka, Japan) has reported a discovery of
a new transient at mag 12.3 on two survey images taken on Nov. 28.557
(UT) with a f.l.=200mm (F/2.8) lens + Canon EOS 5D markII DSLR camera.
Confirming CCD images of this object taken around Nov. 28.98 with a
0.32-m f/8.0 telescope (itelescope.net T18) and 29.64 with a 0.32-m f/9
(itelescope.net T9) yield the following position and magnitudes:
R.A.= 05 00 27.24, Decl.= +13 34 19.9 (J2000.0); Nov. 28.981, V=12.5;
28.982, R=12.8; 28.984, B=12.0; 29.638, V=12.8; 29.642, R=13.4; 29.644,
B=12.6. Nothing is visible on the archival images taken from Oct 14
to Nov 27 at the position (limiting mag: 14.7-15.8).
This object is identical to a red star SDSS J050027.24+133419.9 (u=19.2,
g=18.6, r=17.6, i=16.5, z=15.8), a 18-mag UV source GALEX J050027.2+133420
(FUV=18.5, NUV=18.4), and an X-ray source 1RXS J050027.7+133415
= 1SXPS J050027.1+133418.
The pre-discovery upper limits, discovery and confirming observations
by Mr. Kaneko are summarized as follows.
