[vsnet-alert 19468] AG Car Brightening

The SDOR type variable AG Car has increased in brightness over the past year
and has not reached a visual magnitude 7.  The last time it was at this
brightness was during 2009.  Listed below are monthly mean visual magnitudes
by the undersigned for the 14 months 2015 Jan through to early 2016 Feb.
The below list has the monthly mean visual magnitude with the number of
observations shown in brackets.  All observations with 20x80mm binoculars.

 

The current rise is, at this stage, well below the historical peak of visual
magnitude 5.7 that occurred around 1993.
