ASASSN-16ia: new WZ Sge-type dwarf nova with prominent early superhumps
Itoh-san has reported observations on Aug. 7.
The object was at around mag 16.0 and showed
strong double-wave modulations (full amplitude
0.6 mag). The period is 0.0568(1) d.
The current variation strongly suggests that
the object is a WZ Sge-type dwarf nova in
early superhump phase. The apparent precursor
in the ASAS-SN data (and rapid decline on Aug. 1-3)
is unusual for a WZ Sge-type object and requires
further study. This should be regarded
as one of the top-priority objects in the northern
hemisphere now.
