Dear colleagues,

I have just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of
ASASSN-13bs, obtained on 2021, Apr 11/12 at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a
0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and QHY268M CMOS camera under (mostly) clear skies.

Regular superhumps with an amplitude of 0.44 mag are clearly visible in the
resulting light curve, establishing ASASSN-13bs as a new SU UMa-type dwarf
nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle,
Generalized-Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0), yields a combined
superhump period of 0.0566 +/- 0.0083d. The object was at mag V = 16.6 on
Apr 11th.

Note that the superhump period value is in quite good agreement with the
orbital period of 0.05725(8)d derived from radial velocity measurements by
Thorstensen et al. (AJ 152:226, 2016), who expected this to be a
superhumping dwarf nova.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
