Dear colleagues,
I have just concluded the analysis of a 2016, Oct 10/11 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-13al. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under clear skies. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.27 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0787 +/- 0.0002d, hence establishing this object as a new SU Uma-type dwarf nova. The object currently is at mag 15.4 (unfiltered).
Further observations are evidently encouraged.
Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Best regards
Tonny
