Dear colleagues,
I have just concluded the analysis of a 2016, Oct 22/23 unfiltered CCD photometry session of NSV14681. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.35-m f/6.3 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera. We initially had clear skies with moonlight, but then clouds forced us to terminate the session. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of a superhump with an amplitude of 0.27 mag. A rough period analysis (short time span) using the ANOVA and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.083 +/- 0.009d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 14.75 (unfiltered).
Follow-up observations are highly recommended to more accurately determine the system characteristics.
Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Best regards
Tonny
