[vsnet-alert 20681] OT J055348.98+482209.0: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova

I have just concluded the analysis of last night’s 2017, Feb 18/19 unfiltered CCD photometry session of OT J055348.98+482209.0. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory,  using a 0.40-m /f10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under a clear sky. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.18 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, PDM and Lomb-Scargle methods (Peranso), yields a combined preliminary superhump period of 0.0666 +/- 0.0008d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 17.2 (unfiltered).

Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
