     But if all the thousands of stars have a systematic error
in the magnitudes (likely with USNO-B1.0), then the data will
still be off --- it is not a root-n problem.  Better now for 
'unfiltered' photometry would be to adopt GAIA 'G' magnitudes,
which are red biased (like the usual CCD), but also of quite high 
internal precision.
