ASASSN-17jf has evolved into a full outburst and is showing deep eclipses during
observations done at CBA Kleinkaroo on 16 July 2017. Observations were done
unfiltered using a 30cm Meade RCX400 telescope with SBIG ST8 CCD camera.

The mean magnitude outside eclipses was 15.5 with a semi-amplitude of 0.2.
The eclipse depth was 1.0 mag and growing
>From the eclipses an orbital period of 0.0578d +/- 0.0003 was derived.
There is a hint of a superhump period at 0.0565d (derived from a prominent
0.01883d harmonic)

Initial observations done two nights earlier on 14 July only showed shallow
eclipses. The mean magnitude was 15.3 with a 0.2mag semi-amplitude and a superhump
period of 0.0566d.

Period determination was done using divers algoritms from the Peranso software.
