Dear colleagues,
I have just concluded the analysis of my 2017, Nov 17/18 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-17pb. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under a (mostly) clear sky. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.23 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined preliminary superhump period of 0.0820 +/- 0.0004d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 16.9 (unfiltered) on Nov 17th.
Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Best regards
Tonny
