Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2018, Feb 23/24 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-18do. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under a clear sky . The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.58 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0554 +/- 0.0001d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova (and presumably a WZ Sge type dwarf nova).

Superimposed on the light curve are a number of eclipses with a depth of approx. 0.7 mag.

The object was at mag 15.15 (unfiltered) on Feb 23th.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are highly recommended to further characterize the system!

Best regards
Tonny
