Dear colleagues,
I have just concluded the analysis of my 2018, Mar 30/31 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-15md. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and ST-10XME CCD camera, under a sky with strong moonlight and increasing clouds. The resulting light curve covers 0.09d only (small time span), yet it shows the presence of a superhump with an amplitude of 0.26 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a very preliminary combined superhump period of 0.064 +/- 0.005d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 15.92 (CV) on Mar 30th.
Follow-up observations are strongly recommended to more accurately establish the superhump period. CBA Belgium Observatory will be clouded out tonight.
Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Best regards
Tonny
