The ASAS-SN Sky Patrol (Shappee et al. 2014ApJ...788...48S and Kochanek
et al. 2017PASP..129j4502K) recorded a dwarf nova outburst with a very
slow (GK Per-like) rise in 2016 February/March:
https://asas-sn.osu.edu/light_curves/adf2ab4d-f15c-496d-8493-5f747475cfeb
The very slow rise to outburst maximum indicates a long orbital period.
That 2016 February-April outburst was visually detected by Carey
Chiselbrook at mv= 14.2 on 2016 Feb. 28.04722 UT. The final AAVSO
observation before solar conjunction was made by Steve Johnston on
2016 Apr. 19.86573 UT (V= 14.341):

Btw, V392 Persei is located 6 degrees WNW of alpha Aurigae (Capella).

Confirmation, spectroscopy, multiband photometry, and
precise astrometry are very urgently required.
