Dear colleagues,

Further to my message of yesterday, in which I announced the existence of superhumps with a likely WZ Sge signature in the light curve of ASASSN-18qf, I have now also analysed my 2018, Aug 01/02 unfiltered CCD photometry data of this dwarf nova. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory (Spain), using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under a very clear sky.

The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of regular superhumps with an amplitude of 0.15 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA and Lomb-Scargle methods (Peranso), allowed me to further refine the superhump period to 0.0611 +/- 0.0003d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 14.25 (CV) on Aug 1st.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
