[vsnet-alert 22603] EG Cnc: early superhump

     Arto Oksanen, Tamas Tordai, Ian Miller, Pavol A. Dubovsky, Tonny Vanmunster,
Kiyota-san, Itoh-san, Geoff Stone and Osaka Kyoiku U. team have reported the
observations.
     The object faded to 14.0 mag on Oct. 7.5 UT and showed early superhump-like modulations with a period of 0.0601(1) d and amplitudes of 0.05-0.1 mag. The
early superhump periods obtained in the 1998 outburst were 0.05997(9) d in
Patterson & Kemp 1998 and 0.0582(3) d in Matsumoto et al. 1998. The former
value is consistent within the error. I consider that the modulations became
visible because the object faded.
