[vsnet-alert 22871] ASASSN-18abv, a possible WZ Sge type DN

ASASSN-18abv is a dwarf nova, probably of type WZ Sge.
Reported as a southern object with a large outburst amplitude (probably >7 mag), it has started to show a modulation, probably superhumps with amplitude 0.2mag and a strong period at 0.0545d +/- 0.001d.

Observations at CBA Kleinkaroo on nights 19, 20 and 22 Dec show increasing cyclic activity at the above period and a hint at 0.0274d (+/- 0.001d). 
Observations on 22 Dec also show the strong presence of an 18.6 min period (0.013d +/- 0.0002d).

Observations at CBA KKO will continue.
