Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2018, Dec 28/29 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-18acf. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory (Spain), using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera. The sky initially was very clear, but then clouds rolled in forcing me to stop the session.

The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of a superhump with an amplitude of 0.15 mag, hence classifying this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. Due to the shortness of the session (1.3 hrs only), it is not possible to accurately determine the superhump period. Further observations are urgently needed.

The object was at mag 14.6 (CV) on Dec 28th.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
