Dear colleagues,

Yesterday, I announced the detection of superhumps in the light curve of ASASSN-18acf, based on a short CCD photometry session on 2018, Dec 28/29. I have just concluded the analysis of a second observing session of ASASSN-18acf, obtained on 2018, Dec 29/30 at CBA Extremadura Observatory (Spain), using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera. The sky was very clear throughout the session.

The resulting light curve again shows the presence of a superhump, with an amplitude of 0.23 mag. Combined with yesterday’s observations, I have now been able to perform a period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso). This yields a combined superhump period of 0.0722 +/- 0.0009d. The object was at mag 14.7 (CV) on Dec 29th.

Follow-up observations are highly recommended to further refine the superhump period.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
