AL Com: superhump period and mass ratio
Crimean Astrophys. Obs. team (N. Pit and E. Pavlenko), Pavol A. Dubovsky,
Shawn Dvorak, Roger Pickard and Osaka Kyoiku U. team have reported the
observations.
We succeeded in detecting stage A superhump with the period of 0.05845(4) d.
In combination with the updated early superhump period of 0.05667(1) d, we can
estimate the mass ratio to be 0.083(3). This value is close to the borderline
between SU UMa and WZ Sge stars. In the 2015 superoutburst, AL Com showed not a
WZ Sge-type but an SU UMa-type outburst. This relative high mass ratio could
explain such two type superoutbursts.
Continuous observations are encouraged.
