Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded a more detailed analysis of my 2019, Oct 01/02 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-19yg [see also vsnet-alert 23600]. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under clear skies.

The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.31 mag, hence establishing ASASSN-19yg as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0583 +/- 0.0004d. The object was at mag 14.4 (CV) on Oct 01st.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are recommended to further study the evolution of superhumps in this system.

Best regards
Tonny
