Dear colleagues,
I have just concluded the analysis of my 2019, Oct 09/10 unfiltered CCD photometry session of PGIR19bra = AT 2019qqk = ZTF19abzpkss [see also ATEL #13178]. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under clear skies.
The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.32 mag, hence establishing PGIR19bra as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0538 +/- 0.0003d. The object was at mag 17.0 (CV) on Oct 09th.
Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Follow-up observations are recommended to further study the evolution of superhumps in this system.
Best regards
Tonny
