Dear colleagues,
I have just concluded the analysis of my 2019, Dec 11/12 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-19ade. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under initially clear skies, but with strong moonlight.
The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of 0.19-mag superhumps, hence establishing ASASSN-19ade as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0645 +/- 0.0020d. The object was at mag 14.7 (CV) on Dec 11th. The superhump structure furthermore reveals the likely presence of early superhumps, in which case this system will qualify as a WZ Sge-type dwarf nova.
Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Follow-up observations are highly recommended to further study this variable.
Best regards
Tonny
