Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2019, Dec 23/24 unfiltered CCD photometry session of TCP J00590972+3438357. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera, under clear skies.

The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of 0.13-mag superhumps, hence establishing TCP J00590972+3438357 as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0566 +/- 0.0009d. The object was at mag 14.2 (CV) on Dec 23rd.

The signal reported in my [vsnet-alert 23791] message hence was not related to early superhumps.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are recommended to further study the evolution of superhumps in this system.

Best regards
Tonny
