Recent ASAS-SN Sky Patrol (Shappee et al. 2014ApJ...788...48S
and Kochanek et al. 2017PASP..129j4502K) light curve and data:

There are several Gaia DR2 sources (Gmag. 20) only few arc
seconds away from the reported position of the transient.
Precise astrometry is urgently required (spectroscopy and
photometry, too).

ASASSN-20ec --- ------- 17:9:24.72 -31:9:6 2020-04-19.39 -2.8 SDSS DSS VIZIER ------- bright outburst towards the Galactic bulge, could be a Nova, matches to PS1 g=14.9, g>17.6 on 2020-03-25.00, g=14.3 on 2020-04-16.48, g=14.3 on 2020-04-19.39.
