Dear colleagues,

I have just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of
ASASSN-16dc, obtained this evening (2021, Feb 28) at CBA Extremadura
Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera under clear
skies.

Regular superhumps with an amplitude of 0.49 mag are clearly visible in the
resulting light curve, establishing ASASSN-16dc as a new SU UMa-type dwarf
nova. Josch Hambsch obtained observations of ASASSN-16dc on Feb 27th, also
showing superhumps.

A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle, Generalized-Lomb-Scargle
and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0), combining Josch and my observations, yields a
very long superhump period of 0.0970 +/- 0.0027d. The object was at mag 14.7
(CV) on Feb 28th.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

This object clearly deserves further photometric monitoring.

Best regards
Tonny
