Dear colleagues,
I have been observing ASASSN-21go during 6 nights since its discovery on
2021, Apr 22nd by ASAS-SN. The object finally started to show regular
superhumps during my latest unfiltered observing session, obtained on 2021,
Apr 30-May 01 at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope
and QHY268M CMOS camera under clear skies.
Regular superhumps with an amplitude of 0.20 mag are clearly visible in the
resulting light curve, establishing ASASSN-20go as a new SU UMa-type dwarf
nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle,
Generalized-Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0), yields a combined
superhump period of 0.0517 +/- 0.0009d. The object was at mag CV = 16.6 on
May 01st.
Note that the above superhump period value is much different from the value
of 0.06d reported in [vsnet-outburst 27110], which most likely was spurious.
I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
Best regards
Tonny
