[vsnet-alert 25830] SSS 110509:134330-203235 (aka CRTS J134329.7-203235 ): new SU UMa-type dwarf nova with a remarkable superhump period

Dear colleagues,

I have just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of SSS
110509:134330-203235, obtained on 2021, May 04/05 and May 05/06 at CBA
Extremadura Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera
under clear skies.

Regular superhumps with an amplitude of 0.36 mag are clearly visible in the
resulting light curve, establishing SSS 110509:134330-203235 as a new SU
UMa-type dwarf nova. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle,
Generalized-Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso 3.0), yields a combined
superhump period of 0.1555 +/- 0.0006d, which is exceptionally long. The
object was at mag CV = 14.8 on May 06th.

Given the remarkable superhump period, this target definitely requires
further observations.

I will send my observations to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
