I just got off the phone with AAVSO Director Henden.  They suffered some 
minor damage to their phone and Internet connections in a lightening storm 
last night.  The building was not hit, but there is a large AM radio tower 
across the street that may have been struck which might have induced ground 
currents.    In any event, power surges damaged their T1 equipment thus 
taking them off the Net for a while.  They are awaiting repair or 
replacement of the box that was damaged and hope to be up by tomorrow or 
so.  No data was lost, nor computers damaged.
