Dear novaphili,

There is indeed a bright object at the positon that Bill gave. It is not
certain if it is a new object.

My observations gave the following magnitudes for midtime UT 2005 Aug 07.84:

Filtered CCD:
12.0B (+/- 0.25)
11.6V (+/- 0.15)
10.8R (+/- 0.15)

The position (2000) derived vs Tycho stars:

01 14 59.92 -73 25 35.8  (+/- 0.2 arcsec)

Hola everyone -

There is a possible nova at (2000) 1h 15.0m, - 73d 26'.  This I found on
two films taken on August 6.388 UT using a 0.2m Schmidt camera plus Kodak
TP film, no filter.  Its magnitude is approximately 10.4. Nothing brighter
than 13th magnitude appears at this position on earlier photographs, the
most recent taken on March 23, 2005.  The candidate is near two open
clusters; the field is, to say the least, crowded.
