Forwarded message on the ongoing IP (intermedidate polar)
campaign. Please closely monitor as many IPs (and suspected IPs)
as possible, and notify (best through vsnet-alert and cc: to
Uemura-san: uemuram at hiroshima-u.ac.jp to ensure a different
route) as quickly as possible when you detected an outburst.
The targets are mainly in the southern hemisphere (the first
priority being TV Col).

More details will be explained by Uemura-san. Perhaps
he might tell his cell phone number...

re: Target of Opportunity program on the 1.5m

The highest ranked program on the 1.5m with the spectrograph this semester
is the Uemura et al ToO program CHILE-05B-0193.
This has been awarded 17 hours, in approximately 3-4 hour chunks.

This can be executed on any night scheduled with grating 26, with
either the 26/I or 26/Ib setup. For this month, those nights (10 in all) are:
 8/30, 9/2, 9/9, 9/11-12, 9/14-16, 9/19-20 (this is subject to change).

Target and exposure information is given at
  http://home.hiroshima-u.ac.jp/~uemuram/ipoutburst2005/targets.html
(this link is on the 1.5m scheduling page).

If a suitable trigger occurs on one of these days, one of the co-Is
should contact the observers and the schedulers (addresses below).
The observer is authorized to override the planned program when a trigger
is announced, and to observe the ToO target for the requested time (4 hours
if unspecified), or until the target sets.

If a trigger goes off early enough (say, before noon Eastern Standard Time),
on a night that grating 26 is not scheduled, it may be possible to
switch gratings. In this case, the co-I should make the request directly to
the schedulers. This is possible on most non-26 nights after 9/12.
However, it is not possible to switch gratings during the night, and it is
inefficient to switch late in the afternoon.
