[vsnet-alert 8707] Apparent nova in Scutum

In response to the reported sighting of a possible nova by Mr Takao
(VSNET-Alert 8701, T Kato), I like to confirm a new and red(dened) object at
the position (2000)

18 32 04.86 -06 43 41.8 (UCAC2 reference) / estimated precision +/- 1 arcsec

No star tabled in USNO-B1.0 is within 10 arcsec of this position.

Filtered CCD observations with the CBA Pretoria instrumentation gave the
following magnitudes around UT 2005 Oct 02.8
