[vsnet-alert 8874] Outburst of SDSS J080434.20+510349.2

Dear colleagues,

E. Pavlenko reported that she found an outburst of
SDSS J080434.20+510349.2 around 19 o'clock (UT) on
2006 March 4.  This is the first recorded outburst
of this object!  SDSS J0804 was around 14 mag at
her detection, which was about 4.5-mag brighter
than in her previous quiescence image obtained on
2006 January 8.

This object was discovered in the SDSS mission
(Szkody et al., 2006, AJ, 131, 973), and the orbital
period was measured to be 1.42 h.  SDSS J0804 is
thus a strong candidate of the SU UMa-type dwarf nova,
or even a WZ Sge-type candidate!  Follow-up
observations are highly urged!
